Ben Shear is Founder and Director of Performance at Athletic Edge in Scotch Plains, NJ, a facility which was recently ranked one of the Top Six Strength and Conditioning Destinations in the Country by Rodale Press, the Publisher of Men's Health, Women's Health, and Runner's World.

Taking the science of sport and training seriously, Athletic Edge has become one of the nation's top spots for technologically-advanced testing, teaching, and conditioning.

For nearly two decades, Shear has been training top athletes, including numerous players in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and Division 1 Lacrosse All-Americans. He is a frequent presenter and writer nationally on various topics related to Strength, Conditioning, Speed, Agility, and Biomechanics and has done the first and only research project on the biomechanics of the Lacrosse shot, presented at the 2008 US Lacrosse National Convention.

He has also presented on the topic of Biomechanics at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.)

Most recently, Shear has partnered with Joe Walters and Matt Danowski, two of the games most celebrated players, to create web-based Athletic Edge Lacrosse. The company is ground-breaking in that it brings together multi-disciplinary experts to address the whole lacrosse athlete—top coaches, players, strength and conditioning specialists, biomechanists, rehabilitation experts, nutritionists, leaders in motor learning and sports psychology.

This cumulative expertise will integrate time-tested and cutting-edge information available on mental, physical and technical aspects of the game in an effort to share research, education and training strategies.
